Well, like the rest of the world, I'm broke. Too broke to spend $200 plus on a dress from Japan. So, I found this gorgeous brown dress from Mary Magdalene that I LOVE. I sketched it out and combined 3 different patterns (two which had to be altered) to make this thing on my own. I found this stunning chocolate brown linen-look fabric at Hancock's in St Peters and -stunning- eyelet cotton at JoAnne's across the street. I've run across a few mishaps but it's almost finished!! As soon as I feel confident that it's complete, I'll post a pic! I'm afraid that I may have added too much extra fabric to the skirt. My petticoat wasnt big enough to fill out the skirt, so I put on the HUGE puffy slip for my wedding dress to see if that would work....and it did! Unfortunately, getting in and out of the car with that puffy cake thing on is a little too much, so I think I will have to remove 2 sections of the skirt to make it a little more do-able! :( Alas, no sewing right now, it's breakfast time!!
